The scoping sprint.
Every build starts with one paid week that de-risks everything after it. Any fixed price quoted without one is a guess.
What you get in the week
-
A written specification
What we're building, for whom, and what's deliberately out of scope — the document that stops scope drift before it starts.
-
An architecture
The technical shape of the product and the reasoning behind each decision, in plain language.
-
A delivery plan
Milestones you can hold me to, in order, with what you'll see working at each one.
-
A fixed-price quote
For the build itself — a number I can commit to because the week above removed the guesswork.
£1,950 + VAT — fully credited
One week, fixed price. If we go ahead with the build, the full £1,950 is credited against it — the sprint effectively costs you nothing. If we don't, everything the week produced is yours: the spec, the architecture, and the plan are written so any competent team can build from them.
Why it's paid
Because it's real work, and because it changes the conversation. A free "discovery call" produces a sales pitch; a paid sprint produces decisions. You get a week of senior engineering attention on the hardest part of any project — deciding precisely what to build — and I get to quote a fixed price with a straight face.
