What we collect, and why
Contact form
If you send a message through the contact form, we collect your name, email address, what you need, and your message. This is stored in our database and emailed to us so we can reply to you. That is the only thing it is used for. We keep enquiries for as long as needed to handle the correspondence and any work that follows from it.
Newsletter
If you subscribe to the newsletter, your email address is stored in our database and with Buttondown, the service we use to send it. Every email includes an unsubscribe link; unsubscribing takes effect immediately.
Analytics
We use a self-hosted instance of Plausible Analytics, which is cookie-free and does not collect or store personal data. It records aggregated, anonymous usage (pages viewed, referrer, country, device type). No data leaves our own infrastructure and nothing about your visit can be tied back to you.
Server logs and security
Like almost every website, our servers keep short-lived technical logs (including IP addresses) for security and rate-limiting purposes — for example, to block spam submissions. These are used for nothing else.
Cookies
This site sets no tracking cookies. The only cookies used are strictly functional (for signing in to the site's admin area, which visitors never do). Your light/dark theme preference is stored locally in your own browser and never sent to us.
Who processes your data
We use two third-party processors: Postmark (delivering transactional email, such as contact-form notifications) and Buttondown (sending the newsletter, only if you subscribed). We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with anyone for marketing.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have the right to access, correct, export, or delete the personal data we hold about you, and to object to or restrict its processing. Email wm@wagnermatos.co.uk and we will act on it promptly. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be published on this page with an updated date.
