Babbel is one of the world's best-known language-learning platforms. Working inside their Tech and Tools (TnT) team, I helped build and maintain the internal services that keep the platform's engineering organisation moving.
The engagement
Babbel's Tech and Tools team owns the services and internal tooling the
rest of the engineering organisation builds on. I joined as a contract
senior engineer to design and ship features, prioritise critical
maintenance, and develop services and microservices across the platform.
What I worked on
- Authentication and authorization services used across Babbel's products
- Multiple internal services and microservices in Ruby on Rails and Go
- Feature delivery and critical maintenance on the team's existing estate
- Day-to-day work with Babbel's AWS-based stack, including Elasticsearch and Kibana
